Yoga for Emotional Intelligence is an embodied Social Emotional Learning program that shows students how to address tough emotional situations, process these experiences, and relate to their peers. Students learn how to identify emotions in the body through meditation and how to shift mood with movement. It is offered in schools, recovery centers, and workplaces.
Jeannie Harrison is the founder of Gro Huntington, a recovery fellowship that unites those suffering from addiction with natural healing. Loyal to her yoga practice for a decade to manage her mental health, she developed Yoga EQ to help her students build resilience and prevent relapse.
Meghan Salter is an elementary Talented and Gifted teacher in Cabell County, WV. She began to notice that her students had the unique struggle of noticing more than their peers but not having the emotional maturity to handle these situations. She reached out to Jeannie to do a yoga demonstration in her classroom and Yoga EQ Schools was born!
